destiny
There are countless moments where the hand of destiny reveals itself, often in ways we least expect, but destiny will not come meet you on the sofa. You must exercise your agency.
I am sitting in the spring sunshine, the hissing sound from a coffee machine curving its way around the corner to me as I sit in a cafe in the middle of a magical meadow filled with budding flowers surrounded by ferns and pines, typing these words.
The half-finished flat white beside me has gone cold, abandoned to be left because my focus is here with you.
When I first started this newsletter 10 years ago, it was a way to connect more intimately with those of you who are on a similar path to me. As a woman, a creative, gentle and sensitive soul and a psychology-educated women’s mentor.
I teach and mentor across a range of topics based on my growth and learning as a woman in a world that has spent far too long telling me what I can and cannot do. I choose to dispel those myths by carving my own path in the world and teaching from my lived experiences through the lens of psychology, spirituality and self-responsibility.
With time I discovered writing to be not only a source of building a relationship with you that is deep and meaningful, but a creative pursuit as an extension of myself without which I cannot live.
Akin to breathing, in the absence of writing, I do not exist.
The newsletter evolved and became somewhat amorphous: a place for me to document my kismet journey and growth and share it with you, and a space to elicit sales for my craft.
This unexpected and unintentional shapeshifting has become part of my quest and experiment to run my business in a different way, her way.
At the heart of life lies the concept of kismet, the belief that fate or destiny shapes the events of our lives. Kismet suggests that much of life is guided by forces beyond our control and that our paths are predetermined by a higher power or cosmic order.
There are countless moments where the hand of destiny reveals itself, often in ways we least expect. Serendipitous encounters lead to lifelong friendships, chance decisions alter the course of our careers, and unforeseen circumstances shape our personal growth. These instances remind us of the mysterious and unpredictable nature of existence, where the threads of fate intertwine to weave the fabric of our lives.
However, the concept of kismet does not negate the importance of free will or personal agency. While destiny may set the stage, it is ultimately our choices and actions that shape our destiny.
I love these words from Bozoma Saint John on the Diary Of A CEO podcast:
“Destiny will not come to meet you on the sofa — you must be proactive, moving, trying things for destiny to meet you.”
This brings us to our next HER WAY Circle…

What
Every month we meet, with a theme in mind, to talk about femininity, inner space, life design, relationships, creative expression, and generally the ‘her way’ approach to existing in this world, led by me. You can join from the comfort of your own soft space, with the camera off and listen, or show your face, share, ask questions and engage at whatever level feels right to you.
Theme
DESTINY
Most people move through life believing that it’s either all about hard work, or that your luck, path and destiny are preordained and there’s nothing you can do to change it. One extreme is overworking and trying too hard, the other is shirking responsibility. While luck and circumstance play major factors in life, knowing how to spot and respond to a good opportunity is a muscle you train.
I like the concept of increasing your surface area for success. The more meetings you can have, places you can go, and things you can try, make it more likely an opportunity will find you.
We will speak about meeting life halfway, knowing that there are support roads between individual efforts and the sublime as an important feminine learning, + more...

How
I’ll open the circle with some music while we all land (please join on time). Then I will ask you to share your location and how you feel at this moment in the chat box which I will read out. Followed by my diving into the topic of the month with context. stories, tools and questions. The final 20 minutes or more will be an opportunity to share in the circle. I want to encourage you to bring thoughts, questions and stories to share, as the more engaged you are, the better the experience is, for everyone.
Additional
Prepare beforehand by blocking out the allocated time for yourself. Have a notebook and pen nearby in case you want to take notes. A delicious drink to reach for because hydration is important and feeling relaxed and ready to receive even more so. And anything that makes you feel settled and present. Blankets, cushions, candles, incense, furry pets and ornate ensembles are all welcome.
Bring an open heart, open mind and courage to ask questions and share your own experiences even if it feels scary. You’ll likely ask what someone else has in their heart or tell a story they sorely need to hear so you’re doing all of us a favour.
Any questions, please pop them in the comments below.
I can’t wait to see you in our circle.
An invitation for April:
Are you ready to run your business in a different way… her way?
Her Biz: The Women’s Business Training is a 5-week deep-dive into building a business model that is gentle, intuitive, and impactful. Across the five weeks, I will guide you through the exact steps, processes, systems, and strategies I use to share my visions, message, and heart with the world. And make good money from it, too.
I’ve taken 200+ women through this training and can’t wait to run it again.
I have another story to tell you….
But it’s going to wait until a moment soon when I have more time.
Until then,
Vienda
